A poem by Beverly Stock.

Their size of parts do not match
With great big pointed ears
Their hair is short a forelock
Their voices gruff and weird.
A female’s called a Jenny
An intact male’s called Jack
A snipped male is called a John
With small tails, that’s a fact.
Mix with a striped Zebra’s stock,
Real sweet, but sterile too
Then that makes a new Zedonk
Let’s just leave the gene pools.
If you haven’t guessed it yet,
Whether Jennys or Jacks,
John, the Donkey is my pet
Think 20 Mule Team Borax.
